Senior Application Developer

Location: Brussels (Hybrid – minimum 2 days onsite per week)

Role Overview

We are looking for a Senior Application Developer to support, maintain, and enhance a portfolio of legacy and business-critical applications developed in PowerBuilder, ASP, .NET, and SQL environments. The role focuses on ensuring application stability, security, performance, and long-term sustainability while contributing to modernization initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and support legacy applications primarily developed in PowerBuilder.
• Perform corrective and preventive maintenance activities.
• Analyze, troubleshoot, and resolve production incidents.
• Develop functional enhancements and technical improvements.
• Conduct technical analysis and identify application risks.
• Optimize application performance and reliability.
• Support migration, modernization, and decommissioning initiatives.
• Collaborate closely with functional analysts and technical teams.
• Ensure compliance with development standards, methodologies, and best practices.
• Participate in change management and continuous improvement activities.

Required Skills & Experience

• Expert knowledge of PowerBuilder (versions 12 to 19, including PB2019).
• Strong expertise in .NET development.
• Minimum 10 years of SQL/PL-SQL experience.
• Experience with Windows Services, SAP SQLCA, and distributed service architectures.
• Strong troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization skills.
• Experience managing and supporting legacy enterprise applications.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
