Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced Mainframe Storage Engineer to manage and optimize storage operations within a z/OS environment, ensuring high availability, data integrity, performance, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer and maintain IBM DS8000 storage systems.
  • Ensure high availability and reliable storage operations.
  • Design and implement backup and recovery strategies using GDPS.
  • Plan for future storage capacity and performance requirements.
  • Ensure data integrity and compliance with security protocols.
  • Collaborate with Mainframe teams and cross-functional IT stakeholders.
  • Support the ongoing optimization and reliability of the storage environment.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 8–10 years of relevant experience.
  • Strong experience working with Mainframe storage environments.
  • Experience with IBM DS8000 storage systems.
  • Knowledge of z/OS environments.
  • Experience with GDPS backup and recovery strategies.
  • Strong understanding of storage availability, capacity, performance, and data integrity.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with technical and cross-functional teams.

Nice to Have

  • Experience migrating storage infrastructure.
  • Knowledge of REXX or Python scripting.
