Functional Analyst – Market Services (Energy Domain)

Contract Duration: 6 months (renewable / 1–3 years program context)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Functional Analyst to join the Market Services Factory team, supporting critical applications within the energy metering and data collection landscape.

In this role, you will work on applications that manage and process smart and electromechanical meter data, with a strong focus on the EnergyIP platform and its integration within a complex enterprise environment. You will be involved across both project delivery and application maintenance activities, ensuring stability, quality, and continuous improvement of business-critical systems.

Key Responsibilities

Application Maintenance

  • Manage and analyze production incidents and support issue resolution.
  • Capture and translate business requirements into functional specifications and user stories.
  • Perform end-to-end testing across systems to validate fixes and enhancements.
  • Document and analyze defects, collaborating with development vendors for resolution.
  • Support business users and ensure effective incident resolution and communication.
  • Monitor and handle incidents raised by business users or detected through system monitoring.

Project Delivery

  • Propose functional solutions aligned with business requirements.
  • Produce and validate functional and technical documentation.
  • Design and execute end-to-end testing scenarios.
  • Identify and manage defects during testing cycles.
  • Collaborate with external vendors on solution implementation and issue resolution.
  • Ensure business requirements are properly translated into system changes and enhancements.

Required Skills & Experience

Essential Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Functional Analyst.
  • Strong experience in functional analysis and requirement gathering.
  • Ability to model functional processes using UML diagrams.
  • Experience with testing tools (HPQC or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in integration and functional testing methodologies.
  • Strong knowledge of SQL Oracle and data models (minimum 3 years).
  • Experience working with EnergyIP 9.x platforms.
  • Fluent French (CEFR C2 level) is mandatory.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
  • Experience with backlog management tools such as Azure DevOps.
  • Understanding of system integration, APIs, and data flows.
  • Knowledge of Azure integration services (APIM).
  • Basic English proficiency (CEFR B1 level).

Nice to Have

  • Experience in the Belgian energy sector (GRD / energy supplier context).
  • Knowledge of Kafka (Confluent).
  • Familiarity with SFTP tools (WinSCP), PuTTY, and file-based integrations.

This role operates within a high-security environment due to access to sensitive systems and administrative privileges. Selected candidates may be subject to reference checks in compliance with ISO 27001 security requirements.
