Solution Engineer / Scrum & Agile Delivery Master (Java Cloud) | Brussels, Belgium | 12-Month Contract

We are seeking an experienced Solution Engineer / Scrum & Agile Delivery Master with a strong Java Cloud Engineering background to join a large-scale digital transformation programme.

This is a hands-on role for a senior technical professional who combines software engineering expertise with Agile delivery leadership. You will work within a multidisciplinary team, helping design, deliver, and maintain secure, cloud-native solutions while driving Agile delivery across complex projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Agile delivery activities, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.
• Design and implement cloud-native software solutions using Java, APIs, microservices, and event-driven architectures.
• Guide development teams through the full software delivery lifecycle.
• Collaborate with architects, developers, analysts, and business stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
• Design secure, scalable, and resilient applications for production environments.
• Plan and coordinate release roadmaps while managing dependencies across teams.
• Promote Agile best practices using SAFe and/or LeSS frameworks.
• Support application deployment, maintenance, and continuous improvement.
• Mentor team members and contribute to technical knowledge sharing.

Required Skills & Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on Java SE development.
• Minimum 5 years of Java SE 10+ experience.
• 10+ years designing and developing REST APIs.
• 10+ years developing and integrating microservices.
• Strong experience with cloud-native software architecture.
• Proven experience with event-driven architecture, event sourcing, and event handling.
• At least 5 years as a Scrum Master or Agile Delivery Master on Java-based greenfield projects.
• Experience implementing Agile frameworks such as SAFe and LeSS.
• Strong experience with Azure DevOps for Agile software delivery.
• Excellent understanding of software architecture, cloud platforms, APIs, and distributed systems.

Important Requirements

• A recognised European Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or Information Technology is mandatory. Candidates must upload a copy of their diploma with their application.
• Hybrid working model with 3 days onsite per week in Brussels.
